
Petersham Public School is a positive and successful learning environment. It is a small inner city school set in large park like grounds. There are eleven classes catering for approximately 270 students. Our skilled and committed staff ensure the best outcomes and care for our students.
Our students demonstrate an amazing enthusiasm and enjoyment for their school activities and learning and our academic achievement continues to remain positive. Average achievement of students in literacy and numeracy is above the state in eight out of ten areas in the National Assessment Program. Petersham School has strong learning support programs and hosts specialist programs in Italian, band, dance, recorder, chess, tennis, choir and sport. The school has an onsite out of school hours care centre. We have a supportive parent community that raises substantial funds to support school programs and upgrade resources.
